[美]E·P·托兰斯：E·保罗·托兰斯(E. Paul Torrancc, 1915-)博土为美国知名心理学家，乔治亚大学教育心理学教授。1940年毕业于默塞尔学院(Mercer College), 1944年获明尼苏达教育心理学硕士学位, 1951年获密执安大学博士学位。曾任学校咨询员和校长。曾任明尼苏达大学顾问、讲师、副教授、敬授和研究部主任。他长期从事创造性领域的研究与开发工作，并以此而成名。他的研究生涯大致分三个阶段:最初是探索创造性活动的性质，揭示创造性恬动是过程还是结果; 接着是反对传统的测验和评价的过于一般化，努力设计偝以能较精确地测量创造性活动的方法，终于编制了知名的《明尼苏达的创造性思惟测验(Minnesota Tests of Creative Thinking)》随后他将研究转入课堂, 开发教学策略, 教会学生进行创造性思惟。下文系托兰斯教授新作, 可以认为是他近期从事对学生创造性思惟和解决何题的培养工作的小结
